One of the things that we heard loud and clear at the VTA Live 2014 User Conference in May was that you wanted the ability to do more importing, similar to the Import Roster functionality that is available in History and Scheduled sessions.  We’re still working on the more complex imports you asked for, but we’ve just completed the Import feature on the Team – Students tab.  This feature will allow you to import students onto a team and is available beginning in version 7.1.0.2.

Importing students onto a team works Just like importing students onto a roster.  There is a download template link so you can retrieve the template on which to add the student information for the import.

ImportStudents

In the template, you can either provide Student ID or Learner ID; only one of these is needed for each studentName is not required, but it is useful for troubleshooting a problem with the data, if a record fails to import.  You can supply an assignment date, but it is not required.  If you leave it blank, the system will set the assignment date to the current date.

Once the template file is populated, click the Import button again on the Students tab and browse to the location where the template file is saved.  Select the template.  Once the template is uploaded successfully, you can click the Run Import button to load those students onto the team.

More new features to come… Keep watching the blog!
