Using our LMS for Social Good
RISC is honored to announce that our solution, the Virtual Training Assistant (VTA), is the official LMS of the Houston Food Bank. We’ve donated the VTA software and consulting services to install, implement, and train learning system administrators. The Houston Food Bank will have the capabilities to manage employee development and regulatory compliance for employees and key volunteers. We appreciate the ATD Houston Chapter for including RISC in their eLearning project, which enables us to support a very worthy organization.
“The Houston Food Bank is a major operation receiving and distributing 73 million pounds of food every year. With the expansion of the Keegan Kitchen, HFB will expand their capacity from serving 4,000 to 10,000 meals per day,” states Duncan Welder, RISC’s Director of Client Services. “From safe food handling, to forklift operation and supervisory development, efficient and effective training is critical to help the HFB carryout there mission. I am thrilled to be in a positon to help and support the work the HFB does for Houston.”
The Houston Food Bank distributed 74,000,000 meals in fiscal year 2014-2015, with a goal of 100,000,000 by 2018. For each dollar donated, the organization provides the equivalent of three meals for an individual. By ensuring that their staff and volunteers are properly trained, we hope we’re helping them continue their important work in our community!
